What's New, Friday!
Hi Nancy and everyone:
Seems we have competing "What's New" today ... since you were first, I'll post briefly here. Nancy, I took a similar trip with my mom to her family picnic a couple of years ago. My brother has that duty this year. With our moms all getting older, it's important to get them to their family gatherings because it might be the last time. My mom is the last of her family (last of nine surviving children ... twins died before the age of 1). These cousins in Iowa are on her mother's side. Mom feels especially vulnerable lately after her sister in California died in February. Your mom reminds me of my Aunt Bernice (dad's sister ... turned 90 this year) .. always speaks her mind, ticks my mom off sometimes because of that, but that endears her to me. A few years ago, when I was on one of my many diets, I wanted to join the Y and didn't have the money, she told my mom if she really cared about my health, she'd pay for the membership. Wow! So I got the money and joined the Y.
Not much going on here. Got home after 1 a.m. because of reviews, got to bed late, slept pretty well, have an ortho doc appointment at 2 so it will be a long day because I'll go from there to work (it's in Grand Rapids so no sense in going home and then back to work). I'll just bring dinner into work and eat while I wait for my stories to trickle in for the night.

OMGosh Nancy, I think Chuck must be your brother cause he sounds like your mom. I keep saying he has a filter missing he just says what ever he is thinking. I can't believe how he acts grossed out at heavy people when he can't even tie his own shoes. He DID expect me to drive the 30 miles to his house last night so we could leave from there to go to our meeting even tho he passes with-in a mile of my house. I told him NO, go with out me if it is so much trouble. I was so tired I was almost sick yesterday and I didn't care I was ready for a face off. He called me back all p*ssy saying he didnt want to come to my house because he would have to wear a helmet( Iowa does not have a helmet law, Nebraska does)BooHoo, I said fine then go alone. He came to my house and was overly nice all evening I was cold and with drawn. I was going to leave early from work today but I have been piddling around on the puter so I will have to stay now.I don't have plans for the weekend but I am sure Chuck will.Can
you tell I am just tired and angry. Really I am a nice person, really I am. I spent some time reading this thing, I think it is called the Joy Club, stories of people who have lost over 100 pounds. It was very inspiring and gave me a boost and some motivation. The very first thing I need to do is stop the night eating !! So that is my goal for this up coming week. No eating after 7. I hope you can enjoy your reunion. I would love to see my family. Most of my cousins I haven't seen in 30 years. As we get older family seems more important, at least it does tome.. Blessings

Hi All,
Nothing much going on today but working. I got home around 1830.
I am working a lot the next 2 weeks as one of the stylists is teaching a cutting class next week and I have to work his schedule. I am the supervisor most of the days.
I am taking 2 days off Augest 12 and 13 as that is my 29th Wedding anniversary and I think we are going to Savannah georgia overnight.
Hope all is well.
